At METACOL we select the best and highest materials to offer an excellent quality product! DUCTILE IRON!

"Ductile iron, also known as nodular iron, has a composition very similar to gray iron, but during its consolidation graphite is nucleated as spherical particles (nodules) in ductile iron."

Ductile iron was invented in 1943. Unlike most cast iron varieties, which are fragile, ductile iron is much more flexible, thanks to its nodular graphite inclusions. Most products made of ductile iron are used for the containment or processing of drinking water or wastewater; since they are stronger and easier to connect, they also require less supports and offer the largest flow zone compared to other products of other materials such as PVC, polyethylene or steel.
